Using My Stash!
I have an obsession with fiber, more specifically yarn fibers, luscious luxurious natural yarn fibers! I had this lovely lying around in my yarn stash, . . . my yarn dresser . . . dressers . . .um, ok, my yarn room/sewing:) So in an honest attempt to use some of what I already had, I decided to make the lovely Aura pullover for my 9-year-old daughter Serene.
The pattern comes from The Velvet Acorn. I love these patterns! She has both knit and crochet patterns in sizes ranging from young children to adult. Check it out! You’re going to love these!
Although I am normally a knitter this time I thought I would try my hand at some crochet. I love how quickly this came together. You can get this pattern here.
With the Aura pullover, you basically crochet a rectangle creating a neck edge in the middle.
The pattern is super simple. The instructions are clear and easy to follow.
I found these beautiful buttons at this lovely yarn shop. The Top Drawer is my favorite place to go with my Mom whenever I get a chance to visit! They have all kinds of beautiful yarns and accessories. A trip to this shop is just the therapy this fiber fanatic needs:)
Aura Pullover Completed:
The pullover came together quickly. It sat around for a long while waiting to be finished. While it sat a very creative 5-year-old thought perhaps he needed to snip some of those long ends that were waiting to be woven in! Ahhh! I was able to rescue the pullover and the 5-year-old was given some of his very own yarn for his project and all was well again:) Despite all that, it is finally finished and we love it! Serene is thrilled and my older daughter wants to make the knit version! Hmm . . . I think one for Mama might be in order too!
